EMERGENCY SERVICES
24/7 EMERGENCY CARE

Our Emergency Department provides 24-hour physician coverage, and is supported by 24-hour Radiology, Laboratory, and Respiratory Therapy Services.

TRAUMA

Mid-Valley Hospital is designated as a Level 4 Trauma Center with Surgical Services by the State of Washington. We are part of a statewide trauma system that meets the strict requirements necessary to provide trauma specific services within our emergency room.

Our patients can be assured that we are able to evaluate and provide care quickly and efficiently. Patients who are severely injured are stabilized at Mid-Valley Hospital and then transferred to a designated Level I, II, or III Trauma Center in Washington State.

In most cases, helicopter transfers to more advanced trauma centers in Washington are provided by LifeFlight Network and ground transport is provided by Lifeline EMS.

Mid-Valley Hospital is also designated as a Level II Cardiac Center and Level II Stroke Center in Washington State. This allows us to provide life-saving intervention for victims of stroke and cardiac events in our community. In much the same way as our Trauma System, our Cardiac and Stroke Systems in Washington State allow seamless transfers to more advanced centers for specialized consultation and surgical intervention.

Besides physicians and nurses who see trauma patients in the Emergency Department, other team members include:
  • Operating Room Staff
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Laboratory Technicians
  • Ultrasound Technicians
  • Trauma Coordinator
  • X-Ray/CT Technicians
