DISASTER DRILL TO TEST AND TRAIN EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Omak, WA, 9/24/2018 –
DATE OF DRILL: Friday, September 28, 2018
TIME: 9:30 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
DETAILS: There will be a Mass Casualty Disaster Drill conducted in Omak between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Mid-Valley Hospital & Clinic, Omak Police Department & other local law enforcement, Omak Fire Department, Confluence Health, Family Health Centers, Lifeline EMS and Omak School District will all be involved.
The event, which is being staged by Mid-Valley Hospital and Omak Fire Department, will focus on response plans for an actual crisis, which could trigger a sudden flood of patients who are injured or suffering from an unexpected disaster.
Hospitals are required by the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), to have disaster response plans in place and to conduct disaster drills periodically for improvement and training purposes.
For the community, these can be life-saving experiences.
