Administrator’s Report-March 2009
Maintaining and developing our facility is a continuous process. Whether we are renovating and updating our existing buildings or providing new buildings, it is an effort to provide superior customer service. In fact, today we lay the foundations that provide the basis for a bright future of quality and efficient healthcare for the Okanogan Valley.
On the March 24th meeting, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a “Levy Lid Lift” for maintenance and operations.. This will be a small levy presented to the voters on May 19th, 2009. Initially the funds collected from the levy will be used to pay down a $2.2 million dollar debt expected to be incurred when the Emergency, Lab and R T departments are renovated and expanded. Additionally, there will be more patient and staff parking made available in and around the area of the Mundinger House.
Gains we hope to experience for our patients are many and some are as follows:
-Improved privacy
-Improved security and safety
-Improved infection control
-Improved access and parking
-Improved ambulance access
-Improved decontamination service
-Improved waiting area
-Improved triage area
-Improved work space for caregivers
Feedback from citizens who have needed the services of the Emergency Department over the years helped the board identify the components that are most important to the local community. We know that our proposed Emergency Department can provide the level of service that we believe our local population expects and deserves. After looking at various options ranging from a full scale remodel of the hospital to the status quo, we've identified a solid proposition that demonstrates fiscal responsibility. We are confident this proposal is one we can all support and believe in as we plan for the future of Mid Valley Hospital as it continues to serve a new generation of Okanogan County residents.

Welcome to Mid-Valley Hospital
We are a team of dedicated, caring professionals committed to providing optimal quality health care services while continually striving to meet the needs of our community through the sensitive and efficient utilization of resources and continuous quality improvement. We currently have twenty-five patient beds available, six emergency department beds, and are classified as a Level 4 Trauma Center. A helipad is available for rotor wing transport. We currently employ over 200 people living throughout Okanogan County.
