RESPIRATORY THERAPY

The Respiratory Therapy Department at Mid-Valley Hospital provides diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for acutely or chronically ill patients requiring inpatient or outpatient hospital services.

Respiratory Therapeutics is based upon the presence of acute and chronic illnesses requiring continuous respiratory intervention to prevent complications and promote wellness.

Services or treatments provided include:
  • Nebulized broncho-dilators
  • Mucolytics and corticosteroid medications
  • Implementing and monitoring continuous oxygen and aerosol therapy
  • Chest physiotherapy
  • Ventilator implementation and monitoring airway care
  • Electrocardiography, better known as an EKG

Mid-Valley Hospital has the only full-service pulmonary function lab within 100 miles. All Pulmonary Function tests are done by a Registered Respiratory Therapist who is also a Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist, Board Certified Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist, and a Board-Certified Asthma Educator.
