Mid-Valley Hospital and Mid-Valley Clinic are committed to the education and training of future healthcare professionals. We currently have clinical affiliation agreements in place with Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU), School of Osteopathic Medicine for students training to become Doctors of Osteopathy and with Heritage University for students training to become Physician Assistants to participate in clinical and surgical rotations in our facilities. It is of utmost importance that students who are interested in working in rural healthcare settings are given the opportunity to complete their rotations in a rural setting, in order to foster their interest and draw future healthcare professionals to facilities, such as our own, located in rural areas. Research clearly shows a higher affinity of final employment for these students in towns in which they have trained. As a rural hospital the education of future healthcare professionals is one of our fundamental purposes.
